MARC at ECU!
We are truly excited that you have found the NEW Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) training program at ECU. This two-year research training program is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Its goals are to provide undergraduate students from under-served backgrounds an opportunity to engage in biomedical research, in order to increase diversity in the biomedical sciences.
The program offers students professional development through hands-on research experience, a well-supported mentoring structure, and an immersive educational program. Participants will be mentored by biomedical research faculty across ECU.

Eligibility
- Rising Juniors (two-year graduation time frame from start of MARC)
- Major: Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Neuroscience
- Committed to pursuing a PhD in a biomedical field
- Hold at least a 3.0 GPA
- Individuals from under-served or low socioeconomic backgrounds or with a disability highly encouraged to apply
- US citizen, national, or permanent resident
- First-generation students strongly encouraged to apply!
